I bought a 7900GT from MM and my experiences of Nvidia cards is out of touch since I have had ATI for 6 years until the 8800GT came out.

What temp should this card run at?

It works fine until you stress it with a game or ATI tool.

Triangles start appearing and textures disappear and when I checked the temp it had hit 100 degrees just before it crashed totally.

I have discovered that once past 80C it starts and have graphical glitches.

Did they run this hot with a stock cooler or have I bought a bad one?

I must admit the gpu block and fan looks pathetic and totally inadequate for the card.

i had a KO superclocked one and it ran around 80c even when overclocked. The default voltage was a bit more than the reference versions as well.

In fact I have the cooler around here, you can have it for the price of postage if you want.

Sent you an email in your trust. ;)

sounds like a dud too me :(

Hope not :( When it's running it is a good fast card and runs cod and grid quite well (low res)

It just seems to get hot, very very quickly and then goes downhill.

Temporarily I have set it to 400 core speed which has solved the problem but not ideal.

Hopefully, Gurusan's better cooler and a fresh application of AS5 will improve things. :)

An improved cooler should make a hell of a difference, you checked what speed the fan on the cards running at?
