7900GTO or 7900GTX

Hello guys and gals, I've been looking around for a second 7900GTX which i'd need to flash to my current card as I cant find the same one anymore. I got a pm from a WTD post i made in some other forums saying that I could maybe by a 7900GTO and flash it anyways? He said the only differenec is the bios with lower clock speeds.

Is this ture? id just like to check before I go on a mad hunt for a cheap 7900GTO.

Yeah it is literally a GTX with lower clock speeds, but obviously its not guarenteed that they all make GTX speeds through overclocking

But a GTX BIOS will work fine

ANd you wont find one any cheaper than OcUK's 7900GTO's at £150 there an absolute steal

Hi

Just get any GTX coz the brand does not matter and sli them, its always risking flashing a card so i wouldnt recommend it especially on the GTO's. Though i have read it can be done, providing the mem can handle it, which is always the problem. Anyone else?

Well i just dont want you to make a costly mistake especially if its your mamms card lol. You could sell the gtx and get a pair of GTO's

i could sell my GTX but id just want to overclock the GTO's to GTX speeds so I mite as well keep my GTX and only overclock one card.

lol, are most ppl flashing these cards to GTX speeds without problems? I mite get the card overclock it to GTX speeds and if its stable then flash it, also where do i get the bios from?

whats all this stuff about hacked drivers? whats wrong with the drivers which are out right now? I had 2x XFX 7800GTX about 8months ago so why is there a problem with sli and GTo's?
