Hi there,

Im wondering is there much difference between the 8800GTS 320mb and the 7900GTO. I will probably only be playing at a max res of 1680x1050 once i et a new monitor. I mainly play FPS games and a couple racing games.

Non taken :p Kind of a hard to ask question but what kind of Increases should i be getting in games like BF2, LFS etc?

Depends on what card u have now.But the 8800's bar the 2900 (and it only gives the gts a run for its money not the ultra or gtx) are the best cards on the market..And if you want next gen gaming dx10 in times to come then its the only way to go gto is a dx9 card.

If you playing 1680x1050 then the 8800gts is a must really, i would get the 640meg version though for that rez or even stretch too a 8800gtx if you can.

Ah cool Thanks for the Replys. Im just gonna hang on for a tad and see if they do drop in price once the g90's come out.

If u run vista and want to play the lastest games yes.If you dont then maybe wait abit for some more price drops.Cause at the end of the day if it was not for next gen hype i would have kept my 850 pe it did the job with the games i play online CCS/ut2004/cod/cod2/UO.And got one for ut2007 or cryss

I cant see the GTX/Ultra coming down in price when the next lot of cards appear, as the next lot are only the mid range replacements on a 65nm process (8600's etc...) the high end replacments (G92's) are due around January, they were due to be around October/November but probably decided against release then as they have no competition, the 2900 is only GTS level, and Nvidia still have the faster GTX, and the faster Ultra above that, and ATi's next lot of cards are not due till around January as well, so they may as well hold off, they've already won this year by a country mile, and their new midrange cards will still sell in droves when released.
