Hi,

I have the above gpu...

Whilst gaming temps are at 60 deg....

Is this too high? Or is it standard?

What are optimum temps?

Please advise..

Seems a bit high but nothing to worry about.

Mine under load are about 55

My 7800gtx's run 65c when idle and usually 85c under load.
I've even been kicked out of a game because they've hit 115c.
That's with a 12cm fan blowing out the tower over the top of them, blowing HOT air on my feet.
I think the 7900 are better/cooler chips though.

I would check if ther's any thermal grease and what's the contact on the cores

They used to run hotter until I replaced all the stock 'white' thermal paste with arctic silver 5.
Their heatsinks get so hot, you can't touch them

I got a 7800GS+ that doesn't go over 49c even after 3 hours of BF2
It is brand new though

Isn't it something to do with the cores ?
Mine is a G71 are the cookers the G70 ?
Note the ? marks my head memory is borked i can't even remember where i read/heard that or who told me or whether its relevent.

What i can say is mine is a G71 under serious load it tops out at 49c, i nearly wet myself laughing when i saw the temps.
I got mine from Oc on Friday.

how do you tell how many FPS you are getting depending on the diff games you play?

I know they will vary from game to game, however how do I tell?

Also I have the latest drivers for my card but needed a guide for configuring best settings..any ideas guys?

ok disabled.. under vertical sync - right?

On the main contents page you know you have 3d, display and video and tv...

so for 3d I have set it to: use the advanced 3d image settings....loads of options there, dont know what each should be on? canm you guys help pls?

for display section I ran the optimsation wizard..

and for video / tv I have not looked into this yet for svideo etc etc

all help would be most appreciated..
