I am trying to decide whic card to get between 7900GTX and X1900XT. I have read many reviews and even done a small excel file comparing benchmarks in 1280x1024 with full AA/AF. The 7900GTX averages at about 10fps more than the ATI card and its generally faster. Plus its more quite. The only downside is its price, which is about 40-60E more. I also have the impression that nv drivers are better than ATI Catalyst. I used CCC back with my X800Pro and I remember them having more problems with games. What would you suggest me?

thank you in advance

Why even ask? Seems like you've made your own mind up to me.

It is blunt but Bizarre has a bit of a point, the ATI card is cheaper and about as quick in most situations but if you want the 7900GTX then don't let anyone persuade you otherwise :) Both cards are great and will perform brilliantly with any game you care to throw at them, I'd go with the X1900XT personally as I feel it offers better value for money but it is all personal choice.

Considering that noise and driver support seem like very important issues to you, I would recommend going for the 7900GTX even though it tends to be quite a bit more expensive.

I own the x1900 xt-x and must say it is an amazing bit of kit, but I think that the 7900 GTX will also be a great card. Just depends what you are looking for. Both perform better in different games and apps. I faced the same decision when I went for mine but i'm so happy with my choice. :)

What they said ^^ ;)

TBH, neither is a poor card and benchmarks can tell you only so much.......go with the card you want - in the real world, can;t see on will be better/worse than the other :)
