7900gtx to 7950x2

A 7950GX2 is extreme overkill for 1280x1024 IMO, and I don't think you'd see a huge amount of difference at such a resolution. At least not enough to justify the outlay.coolio2k3 said:

P.S. That's an X1950 review, but it has both the 7900GTX and 7950GX2 in it, and it's very up to date. It also has the Nvidia cards running at high quality in drivers instead of quality, which most people use. Good review.

What he said. At that res, the 7900GTX is plenty powerful. I expect you can run the great majority of games at 4XAA and 16AF without dropping below 60 frames/sec. Altough it's a fab piece of kit, I doubt the 7950GX2 will benefit you any more.
