Is the GTX(512mb) worth an extra £20 over the 1950 Pro(256mb)?

Also does anyone know the power requirements for the GTX? I've heard its 22A but google's turning up mixed results!

gtx for 20 quid more than a pro is deffo worth it.

What about £40? The 1950 pro 512mb version I can get for £80 delivered but its a "value" brand so it may be any manufacturer and the XFX 7900GTX is £117 delivered.

Problem is I'm quite limited to what card I can get due to my PSU Seasonic S12 380W. The GTX might be pushing it too far

I'd have thought the X1950 Pro uses more power than a 7900GTX.

From what google has produced the 1950 uses 66w and the GTX 84w.
The GTX's requirement is 22-26amps on the 12v rails and mine being 25a I might just give it a try!

as you can get a 1950xt for bit less than the gtx but about same in game .still good price for both really.

x1950 does not use 66w of power, its 85w power consumption.
you know for a fact its over 75w just because the card as external power connector.

Well my current PSU ran a 7900GTO(Same power requirements as GTX IIRC) and it ran fine, heck my PSU is running my 8800GTX fine and it's only 25A.

just ordered 6 of these 7900gtx's they too cheapo, hope there are some left for you guys. various family members require this card to play newer games.
one cousin is questioning the potential performance difference since his 6200 also has 512mb LOL

What for?

No competitor has been mentioned and OcUK don't even sell 7900GTX's anymore

Doesn't matter that OcUK don't sell 7900's anymore, anyone who is selling them will be a computer etailor, so are a competitor, im surprised theres any of those left anyway seen as they've been out of production for eons. :p

Id get the GTX. :D

Can i ask just 1 question (sorry don't mean to hijack thread) but which gives better performance a bog standard 7900gt or 1950pro?

See i'm quite interested in purchasing a pro just to tide me over till a new build next year.
Would i see a mark differance?

If it's the same source I got mine from, they were going for sub £100 inc. VAT in July. And around £15 extra for the overclocked models.

I checked wattage comparison from Xbit Labs, but can't remember if it used more or less than a 1950Pro.
