Hi guys,

just looking for anyone who has overclocked this cpu and/or platform.

Its a new platform and memory setup for me,

At the moment i have it set via adaptive to: 1.1 OC voltage, which gives varying max core volts (each core is different) from 1.195v to 1.283v

Clocked via all cores to 4.7ghz, 4000ghz memory on the gskill 4266 ram @ 19,19,19,39 (haven't tweaked the timings down yet)

Any tips or anything? cinebench is giving about 2600 points. Just not sure what i should be looking at!

Cheers!

Put this in the ask 8 pack forum by mistake, either way all good!

Realised the OC voltage setting does nothing and the voltage is the same regardless when left on adaptive, so i guess id have to use a negative offset to reduce the volts.

also set the ram @ 17,17,17,34 @ 4000 1T. seems to be ok. Feeling like im wondering around in the dark though as i dont know what the ballpark figures should be :)

edit: tried 16,16,16,32 1T 4.0Ghz memory, looking good.

voltage on auto gives the same core volts as above. I wish i could set manual volts like i did on my 4770k and have it lower at idle, but its just static now.

more edits:

ok so ive set the adaptive offset to -0.05v which gives a voltage spread of between 1.154 and 1.225 under load @ 4.7 is this ok?

Ive also set the cache/mesh whatever to 3.0ghz. no difference in cinebench with it though. any thoughts?

Cine should defo scale with cache so efficiency is off.

Seems your oc is pretty good otherwise.

Actually, while i'm here,

do you have any tips for booting with faster than 4ghz ram? my sticks are rated at 4266 and currently running dual channel (for now) but it wont even post at 4040 when 4000 is totally fine and stable @ CL17. tried higher timings but to no avail, just no post even with a stock clocked cpu.

thanks!

Imc on the Cpu I guess or some mbs can't go so high. The best boards for high efficiency and frequency are ocf and apex.

Cheers, the new bios helped, but now im on quad had to reduce the frequency, just cant be bothered tweaking for hours anymore :( but the cache and memory bandwidth looks good @ around 105GB/s and 50ns
