Decided to give my 7900xt a bit of love after noticing hot spot temps were pretty high running at stock. Started running a bit of an under clock to keep in check. Re-pasted last night and made more of a difference than I expected. Found the old paste was quite hard and brittle. Used some thermal grizzly kryonaut & found I now get lower hot spot temp in particular and higher sustained boost clock as a result.

Dropped from 102c hot spot to 86c. Well worth the hour or so it took to do.

100c is not healty. Anything above 90 is worth paying attention to. What pards did you use on memory? and what thickness?
I agree, that’s why I decided to repaste it. I just reused the pads that were on it. There’s no need to replace the pads unless using thermal pads for the die from what I gather. Also unsure why the images have stopped working

How old was the card, and what model? - Wouldn't have thought it'd need repasting so soon.
I havent monitored temps other than main GPU core since just after I got it.... maybe I should :D
It’s a Sapphire MBA model so Amd reference. I think the temps have always been pretty high but usually play less demanding games and never paid much attention. Possibly a bad factory paste job but I was surprised how hard the paste was.
