Wondering if a 4.8GHz 7920X will be fine on 1440p ultrawide. I know there will be zero difference at 2160p, also not much on standard 1440p.

Already own it from a previous build, thought it could be used and sold on perhaps.

I use a 7980xe @ 4.8 GHz and it's pretty great. Granted it's old and not the pinnacle but at those sort of clocks you will be fine in most instances and your cpu will be broadly similar. I use it to game on a 3440x1440 high refresh rate panel and no issues there for most the part. There are a few games where the mesh architecture does take a hit, far cry games and first total warhammer come to mind, but even then usually still solid.

Can go either way though I suppose, sell it and recoup and spend on say more efficient Ryzen but depends how much you get for it imo.

That is the res I would be using, believe FPS should be the same in most titles regardless of CPU. Still have a X299 micro atx 2 laying around somewhere, potentially could save me a bit of cash building it.

I'll see what 3080 Ti's will be price wise, unlikely be any to buy though. Would two 360 rads be sufficient? Was thinking a XE and PE from EK.

Would be fine temp wise I expect. Of course, case, fan etc will play a role, but pair of 360 mm rads, more so when one is thicker should mean things are fine.
