I have an old(ish) BFG 7800 GT OC 256mb
it has a Danger Den NV-78 waterblock,

Basicly the card has died and i was looking at getting a;
Leadtek GeForce 7950 GT 512MB

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the layout of the boards are the same so my waterblock would just fit straight on to the 7950?

thanks

hhmm, or should i wait for the 8800 to come down in price a bit,
i like the look of them, and dx10 :)

would need to get a new water block for that tho, :( to much cash

If you wanted to watercool with the same block, I'd go for the cheapest 7900 GT as (a) I don't think that there is anything vastly different between that and a 7950 GT apart from a few mhz or core and memory and (b) the spec for your waterblock gurantees they will fit.

7900 GT has the same number of pipes and vertexes as a 7950 GT, and you can overclock (which I assume you were going to do anyway) to make up the difference in clock speed.

Cheapest at OCuk:- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-006-EA
