Hi,

Just installed and setup with LTMatts help, thanks Matt. It seems to work fine in Battlefield, but not in Rome11 or War thunder.
When I have MSI afterburner running, Both GPUs show they are working IN BF4 but nonly GPU1 in Rome and War thunder.

Really noticing it when not working since I upgraded to a 2560 x 1440 monitor on max settings. Especially in War thunder in average settings.

Any (simple , remember I am the original dunderhead :o) ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks Barry

Are you using the latest 13.11 Beta 9.2 drivers? If not you should.

Rome Total war has rather poor crossfire scaling, but it does have some. Around 15-30% as far as i know. Generally those games you mention don't work well with crossfire im afraid.

War thunder dont support Crossfire or SLI

Well, thats a reliefe, if they dont support then I dont expect anything, weird in this day and age with so much on offer that they dont support what is quite frankly well (old?) established technology, dont you think?

What kind of FPS should I expect in BF4 with my rig which is
i7 haswell oc to 4.4
2 x his 7950 ice q boost in xfire
8 gbs 2133 ram
Motherboard: Asus Z87 Pro (Socket 1150) ATX Motherboard
Cooler: Corsair H100 with Noiseblocker Pro 120mm fans

Thanks for your support guys , as usual you step up tyo the mark and deliver.
My heros :D

Frankly, I was beginging to feel short changed and thinking I should dump the 7950 setup and go for a top end single card ( but which one?)
I was hoping this current setup would be man enough to avoid spending more spondulies for a while. sigh!

If those are mainly the only games you play, then yeah, I would probably sell one or both of them since multi-gpu support in that case is obviously less than acceptable. However, if you play a wider range of games then I'd stay as you are since a majority of other titles will fully support crossfire. At the very least, I'd give it some thought before making your decision. :)

Ok so now my predicament is I thought that this xfire malarky was going to be the answer to all my desires, but I cant get good fps on War thunder or Rome 11, which are my usual haunts. Quite nasty juddering/stuttering or whatever you call it in intense moments in war thunder.
What do I do?
Can I/should I return the new 7950 and exchange for a single high end GPU and sacrifice a little performance in the likes of BF4 to gain in non xfire supported games?
If so what card, everything from what im reading seems to have some kind of compromise, especislly heat issues. Im not really into overclocking other than maybe a little tweak through MSI a/b
Will OCUK alow me to return and exchange for the likes of a 7990
My system is brand new Gold Rush
- Case: Bitfenix Shinobi XL Windowed Gaming Case - Black/Gold
- Power Supply: Corsair Gaming Series TX 850W mod PSU
- CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K 3.50GHz @ 4.4GHz Quad Core Haswell CPU
- Motherboard: Asus Z87 Pro (Socket 1150) ATX Motherboard
- Cooler: Corsair H100 with Noiseblocker Pro 120mm fans
- RAM: 8GB Team Group Vulcan Gold 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Hard Drive: Your Choice of Primary and Secondary Hard Drive / Solid State Drive
- Graphics Card: 2 x HIS 7950 iceq Boost 3gb
- Sound: Realtek 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
- Optical Drive: OcUK 20x DVD+/-RW SATA Drive

Need to decide soon

I have crossfire and on war thunder can only use one card, last time I played it I used to run solid 60fps on movie setting.

Will give it another try later and see how it performs and will post back.

This is on Movies mode with AA disabled has I like to use SMAA
I notice when you load the game up with Crossfire enabled it brings up a warning message.
The game was how I remembered solid frame rate, now using a 120hz display I locked the fps to 120fps and while playing the frame rate was most of the time 90+

Its a shame they dont support crossfire.
