I just got given one of these so I can finally make the move from Socket A as I havent had a PCI Express card to replace my 6800 GT AGP, just wonder if these are any good and how the compare to modern cards?

Im not sure how much memory it has either, it says 1240Mb in DXDIAG but that cant be right surely?

If you mean 1024mb then that might actually be right, IIRC a few manufacturers released 1gb 7950GTs.

As for comparison, it should have a bit over double performance to what you're using right now and about half the performance of the current gen, give or take.

i thought that but oddly enough it does say 1240 lol will have to look into it.

Good to hear its an improvement over what I had, seemed pointless swapping all the bits over otherwise.

well in dxdiag it says my ultra has 1887mb. i think this is cause it is counting the graphics page file thing on the harddrive. i may be wrong though

its probably just the setting in the bios for shared vram . or at least thats what i think it could be.

performance would be more than double over your old card and not a million miles away from current gen.

GPU-z might do it, though I've only used cpu-z, google for the program.

Yep it does
