7950 gx2 not impressed.

fsp's are loud but apart from that they are good.

tagans are silent and stable.

The same parts that are in pcp&c psu are in tagans as well.

holy crap and your running a 7800gtx with one may not be the most powerful card but your a brave brave man

lol i didnt choose to have a q tec i just had no money. i just bought the 7800 and opened computer and saw a 350 psu. i cried so i went to a shop to get them to put in a new psu (sounds really hard to do). Asked for a 600 w really good one but was over £100. Luckily my mum gave me some money for a q tec lol

save up for a new psu is my advice you have a ticking time bomb there :D ,
*runs*

The Tagan reliability does not seem bad at all though. Time will tell how these 900w and 1100w supplies stand up to the rigors of everyday use. ATM the supply is rock steady, I suppose it depends how much money you wish to invest in a new psu. FWIW all the listed supplies have had known issues (even the high end ones), there are cases on xtremesystems listing the problems, though PCP&P have always come through with their cutomer service.

Get rid of it now! Seriously, buy a new one ASAP. It's only a matter of time till it blows and takes your system out with it.

"...draws a ridiculous 725W from the mains to produce 498W. The Q-TEC barely managed a few seconds at 100 per cent load before the voltages on all the rails started jumping up and down by as much as 20 per cent. After approximately a minute, it triggered the trip-switch of the testing lab." CPC

see your scaring me again lol. I got a few things on my list to get first before tho. New hdd, new cpu, many other things then maybe a psu. If it dies everythings on warranty and q tec will gimme a nice present after the letter i write them lol

Andy.... you've got it all wrong!!!

Buy the PSU first then add the extra parts when youo save up! Honestly I had an Enermax go on me when I used to run my Vapochill... its a nightmare when they do, and mine was a GOOD brand!!

Buy the PSU first.. then add the better CPU, HD etc. Everytime you turn the PSU on with todays heavy components you risk frying the lot! Imagine how you'd feel when you put your new Conroe in, then your 2GB ram, then your raided Raptors etc... then your nearly there with saving for your dedent PSU...

#@!£$% POOFF, BANG SPARK, FIRE..... all the gear ******! You will then find this thread and say... I wish I'd had a £100 PSU :)

Nah vsync's not on.

THAT WOULD GIVE ME 72 FPS WICH IS EVEN WORSE
oh good god, its not that vsync (steals) your fps, it limits it at 72 so its is constant, this why you have a better picture, and there is no way anyone can notice the diff between 200fps and 72fps. not gonna happen

It will only be constant if his rig can supply a minimum of 72fps I thought. If his fps drops below 72 his fps will be halved because of how the double frame buffer works. He will need to ensure that triple buffering is turned on (and working for D3D) for V-sync to be worth enabling.
