Not seen a dedicated 7950 OC's thread so thought would start one as am keen to see what people are getting.

Will start the ball rolling.

Got a couple of Asus DirectCU II Top's in crossfire. Yeah, as will be noted, the cooler could have been better fitted, but I sorted that with some motherboard washers.

OCing has been a bit of a struggle, as just when I think I got things right, I would find some instability. I think for my max I have settled on 1160 core @ 1.218V and 1600 mem.

But at those settings, even with the DCU II coolers, things can get toasty/noisy - up to 75C, but at like 60% fan which is a bit noisier than I like. But I realised am going to be far better off running at lower volts/speed to make the cards last as long as possible.

Can get 1120 at around 1.187, but have not done extended testing.

Was going to settle on 1040 @ stock volts (1.093), but an extended session of heaven proved that to not be quite stable. But then I realised a 30% OC (from standard 7950 clocks) on stock volts may have been wishful thinking.

Hopefully I can get away with just one bump up to 1.1V. Temps I don't think will go above 65C at this combination.

ASICS, for what they worth, are 64.7 and 67.4. I did have another card with 75.4 but was unstable and a really poor clocker.

Would be great to see what others are getting with 7950's as most of what I find OC-wise is people with 7970's.

Sapphire 7950OC @ 1200c 1500m using TRIXX, I have the fan profile at 40% min and 1:1 with temp above 40deg C, never gets above 63deg/63% (very quiet too :D) unless benching, but then again, I only benched 3DM11 once and got P10200. ASIC if I remember was in the 70's

Haven't really toyed with mine all that much, but I benched over 2000 on Heaven as per the Heaven thread. 1250mV, 1200 core, 1600 mem.

Temps with standard fan profile reached 82 IIRC, thought seemed to hover around 76-78 overall.

It's the Sapphire 7950 OC edition with the dual fan cooler.

I hope to mess around with it a little more, till then I have it set at 1100mV, 1000 core and 1500 mem which is perfectly stable in games and doesn't go above 65 degrees, again on the standard profile.

If anyone knows what the max Voltage is for these cards the info would be appreciated, both 24/7 running and max for benchmarks.

Got my gigabyte windforce at 1030/1450 on stock volts at the moment i had it at 1100/1575 with 1.15 v which stayed under 70deg with standard fan profile with heaven , fan never got loud either.. I have got to mod the afterburner folder to go any higher than 1100 mhz.
I was a bit woried to begin with as my card only has a ASIC score of 69.1 but so far i have had no problems overclocking .

At 1100/1575 my heaven score was 1889

Am using 12.3 Official. They are bit rubbish though. Might install the 12.4 betas again... or maybe just be patient and wait for 12.4 official.

I currently have a Sapphire BIOS flashed on as just wanted to see if made any diff over the Asus one. About the only diff have noticed so far is things seem to get hotter/louder with Sapphire BIOS.

Am going to flick switch to position 1 tonight (Asus) and see if can run 1040 on stock volts on that. Not sure differing BIOSes will make any diff, but never know until you try :D

What drivers are you all using? I found certain drivers made overclocking more difficult.

12.4 beta.

Apparently something in the new drivers makes it hard.

I can go to 1200/1600 with MSI Afterbuner beta 15, no higher though, slider bar only goes that far. I can also adjust the Voltage.

Just bought my ASUS HD 7950 TOP 3072MB GDDR5, just wondering what i can expect from games like BF3 and the like. Will this run anything and everything at max? or am i still a little behind? Thanks :P

12.3 here . Funny that afterburner ,beta 15 will only let me go 1100/1575 which is the slider limit. I do have volt adjustment though. I will try 12.4 beta see if that raises the limit ???

What resolution?

Mine plays it fine at 1920*1200. Everything on max, 40fps min.

yeah im talking at 1920/1200. Including AA ye?

I did have a 5970, but was getting issues when i was using duel monitor displays and playing games at the same times, but i have heard rumours this was to do with the drivers. Either way it wasnt giving me the performance i wanted out of BF3

What volts you use for 1200?

Wish the CDU II was quiet at 60% :(

I initially went for CDU II but it wasn't in stock, then read on the cooler fitment issues with that card so cancelled order and opted for the Sapphire at a slight price premium. At 1200c the voltage is 1.275 which should be fine for normal gaming for few years (I say few but i know damn well in 18m I'll be upgrading yet gain!)

slider for me goes to 1100 with AB, how you get 1200 may I ask, prefer AB over TRIXX tbh

When the Sapphire OC cards have the bios switch on position 2, it allows up to 1200 OC, and position 1 allows the standard 1100 I believe.

Just had my Radeon HD 7950 DirectCUII TOP dispatched. It was out of stock so surprised when I got the email, price was excellent though. I was just about to cancel and go for 2 x 7850's but hopefully this will work out better.

I have read of a few people with cooler issues but I'll see what it does when I get it and overclock it. I'll report back here when I do :)
