Hi guys,

back to the forums for a little advice. Looking to replace my 560 in time for AC3 and Far Cry 3. Would like to get the best GPU for my buck, currently im looking at either the 7950 as it's up for a great price and is currently coming with some awesome games...

or the

600ti. Ive been a Nvidia user for a while so have had a good experience. My question to you guys is which one is better ? Or neither should I choose a different card. £300 is my limit.

Any advice would be great :D

Cheers

7950 without a doubt! It's not even a question now with the latest AMD drivers. I was in the same dilemma a while back on whether to get the 7950 or 660ti/670, the only thing that made me consider Nvidia was the better performance in Battlefield 3, but now that the performance is the same now with 7950 and new drivers, the 7950 is the easy choice.

Also, I have the card you are looking at and it is amazing, overclocked to 1000mhz with a the click of a button and it still runs cool at 59c on load. Don't know if you are aware though but it was £239 last week and I also got mine for £239. It seems to regularly go on sale for £239 so maybe you could play the waiting game if you want to save a tenner.

Bloody hell, did now know that it came with those games! You could sell those and bring the cost of the card down to £200. :D

MSI or Gigabyte, they offer 3 year warranties mate. You cannot go wrong with the card you've chosen.

Although if you are not too bothered about warranty then this could be another option.

I did actually order this one first but then found out that it is a bit of a large card and would not fit into my case, so changed to MSI last minute.

I believe OCUK handle the HIS warranty in the first year but then you deal with HIS in the second year.

To give you some context, the 660Ti and 7950 are comparable only on price. The actual nVidia performance equivalent is the GTX 670.

The 660Ti is just not in the same league as the 7950 which you would think it is due to the price.

I'm considering this very card - was looking at a 670, but I don't think I'll bother now... I don't really need PhysX, do I...

Question is - it only has one DVI connector on it. And I need two, otherwise I'll have to buy another monitor, which I don't want to right now....

I have a samsung ... something - bought a couple years ago, so don't know if it has HDMI or displayport on it... what can I do about that?

That's the best/main monitor. My second monitor is a belkin thing from eons ago that only has VGA- I connect to that via DVI > VGA converter.

You could always get an adapter to solve the problem or find another 7950 with two DVI's :D
