Just about to plug in my Gigabyte 7950. I was getting out the pci-e leads from my seasonic x series 650w power supply box and noticed that the two 6 pin pci-e plugs come with another 2 pin connector on the same line, is this just a conversion to make it into an 8 pin? Or is it important and should be plugged into the gpu?
Also with the graphics card came a pci-e to 3 pin molex connector do I have to use this or can I just use the lead that came with the power supply?

Just use the connectors from the PSU and not worry with the adapters.

The connectors on the PCI-E lead as you mention convert it to 8 pin, but if your card is 6 pin these just hang loose beside the card.

See the pci-e cables that plug into the graphics card, is there such a thing as a right angled cable or extension I can buy for it to make the cable management a bit neater?
