I'm trying to install the graphics card into this computer its a gigabyte windforce 7950. If I boot up with the dvi cable into the motherboard all works well but when I try and boot up with it in the 7950 I get nothing. Now If I take the card out I can access the bios fine (I thought maybe I had to set it to output through the card) but when the card is in bios loads for as second and then it jumps into windows 8.

The Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H

Any help would be much appreciated.

The drivers don't seem to install either. In the log afterwards it makes no mention of the card or having done anything

Tried that kept getting a file size error through qflash so tried using the @BIOS and updating via the web which worked but still nothing

Nope. I dont even have anyone nearby I could go and see as everyone I know just uses laptops or macs unofortunatly

Ah great stuff. If its been around since July last year then I guess its probably not fixable. Really didnt want to have to replace the motherboard but if thats the only option...

its rev 1 so I will try the beta bios and see if that lets anything happen. Im pretty sure its all pushed in correctly and I do have both 6 pin connectors on the card.

Yeah still getting nowhere. Even setting it to PCI in the bios doesnt hold it just always reverts to auto. I am just at a loss as to what the answer is

Is it worth me sorting out all my programs etc. If I am going to have to replace the motherboard? I assume that will need a fresh windows install?

Unfortunatly I cant. At this point im more inclined to think its the motherboard given that there does seem to be issues with it so will probably order a new board and see if that sorts out the situation. I realise it could be a dud card but since I dont have a way to rule out either I guess all I can do is replace 1 and see where that leads me
