7950 upgrade

Any reason you want the upgrade? Certain games your 7950 struggles on? - Could always drop in a second 7950 and go crossfire (the route I took, though the prices did seem to increase for a bit because of the bitcoin/litecoin craze and might still be at a higher price)

overclock it if you didn't already , i sold my 7950 bought 770 higher performance but kinda side grade and had to lash out 100+ £ not worth it, in other hand ,you can sell your 7950 for much more as people are mad about mining past few months.

I was just looking at a couple of new cards on the over clockers website. I suppose my 7950 doesn't struggle Its running 1150/1475 at the moment.
I cant add another to the system as I am using itx board.
would like to add water cooling to a graphics card.

Graphics card upgrades are only worth doing if the card can't actually handle the game/games your playing on the settings you wish to play at.

I was running BF4 on ultra @1080p with aa off and was hitting 60-80 fps most of the time, no stutter or noticable drops in FPS. The only reasons i upgraded is i had money burning a whole in my pocket and i wanted to push 120fps as i have a 144hz screen. Plus i was watercooling so i figured if i was spending money on a block i may aswell have a new card :D

It has been worth it for me as i am getting the most out of my monitor. fps is normally around 110, if i remember i'll run fraps later.

edit: to be fair if you can sell your 7950 for over 200 on a popular auction site and then sell the games from the 290 it will be a cheap upgrade.

If you are ging to upgrade from a 7950 then now is the best time to do so as you probably wont get a better price for selling them than now. In a few months time with the crypto coin difficulty increasing there may be less demand for these cards. Ive seen 7950s go for more than £300

Yeap, that's what I was thinking as well. So will see, maybe I can get a good price for mine.

Thanks Joker, am also in a similar situation as you so will see what I do next.
