Before I say anything else I already know which is the better card for gaming :p

However I am intersted in knowing given the fact that the 7950 is more expensive than the 660 ti's are they worth buying for 1080P gaming.

However I can't seem to find any reliable benchmarks, most of them vary and very few of them post which drivers they are using

As a matter of perspective from a value for money, non SLI 1080P gaming view does the 660ti make more sense than a 7950?

Any trustable benchmarks would be appreciated :)

PS. Any posts just saying "Get a 7950" etc will be ignored, opinion needs to be backed up by reliable evidence :p

The 660Ti doesn't warrant its price tag. If it was £190-200 it would be OK. I would personally avoid the reference model 660/660Ti/670s as they have poor coolers on them.

The MSI Power Edition 660TI is almost priced in the slot at £240 but it's still around £20-30 too much to be a viable option. The reason being is that when MSAA is applied (and most people want MSAA from a £240 card) it is slower than even a 7870. :(

Most benchmarks on the web are pre 12.11 drivers which makes comparisons difficult but the 7950 is just an all round better card. Here's one of the better reviews on the net:

http://hardocp.com/article/2012/11/12/fall_2012_gpu_driver_comparison_roundup/

In fact, it could well be argued that for the enthusiast the 7870 is a better card as it is:

a) a lot cheaper
b) faster (or at least even) when MSAA 4x is applied

Factoring in overclocking as well would firm this conclusion up.

p.s. I think it's a bit rude to factor out peoples opinions if they don't provide evidence. At the end of the day if you're purchasing then it's up to you to do research on the back of what people tell you... not use people to do the searching for you :p.

I hope the above is useful.

Just found conclusive evidence that the 7950 is faster than the 660TI. I can't give the link from where I got this slide as it was from a secret Nasa lab at Area 51 and if I tell that, I will probably vanish.

As you can clearly see, the 7950 is far superior to the 660TI :)

@ Mart, OcUK have revamped the images :)

I'm reserving judgement until you present the frame times, i know you have them. ;)

I didn't want to post these but since the frame latency has been banded about, I best show what the guys at Nasa came up with.

You can see from these extensive tests that the 660TI is very good and proves that Nvidia drivers bring no issues (no game names, as every game developed ever was tested and then averaged out). Sadly the 7950 falls at this hurdle.
