7950GT OC 512MB

Well at the end of december i bought a BFG Geforce 7950GT OC 512MB and i put it in like you do and it blew up, so ok rma it but it has lifetime warrenty with it so i email bfg they said its not a problem to replace it. so a month later i get this replacement install it go to play call of duty 2 put it on dx7 and i get 600 fps 1 hour later im getting about 180 - 250 (capped at 250). a friend of mine has the 7900gt 512MB and he can get 333 constant. isnt my card better?

Mobo: Asus p5nd2 sli deluxe
Memory: 2GB Crucial ballistic tracer
hard drives: 2 x 200GB
Power supply: 520W
processor: intel pentium d 940 3.2GHz

So does anyone else have this and the game just wondering what fps you get.

on cod2 i would say that was correct, do u have settings on high? what res are you using?

Everything on high no aa and 1024x768.

well if its capped at 250 then thats ok move the capping up to 333 to see if it peforms the same as your freinds
either way it looks ok

when i say its capped at 250 it wont go any higher but its not constant.

You say this happens after an hour? Could this not be a heat problem?

I know the 7950GX2 is suppose to be pretty bad with its cooling solution.

I've JUST got a 7950GX2 myself, so will check what COD2 performance is like on mine for you.

I plugged it in i was really excited lol so i played cod 2 straight away went on a server and it was 600 fps then went for my dinner came went to play and it was like 200 fps.

Sadly my COD2 has bugged out after formating and reinstalling XP so i've not been able to test it properly.

Although it does run smooth i was hitting 250fps + in DX7 with 2xAA @ 1280x1024

But in Warsow i was getting 999fps about 95% of the time - it would only drop to 499fps

CS:Source is also running smoothly which is great news
