Any one have any tips on cooling this GPU? that don't include changing the stock hsf as being a dual board card that would be a lot of tedious work. I'd like to mount a fan over it somehow but can't think of a straight forward way to get one mounted in a good place.

Cheers.

cheers I'll check that out...

meanwhile I've rigged up a fan by mounting a 5.25 to 3.5" drive bay adapter reversed so its like an arm out over the motherboard and attached an 80mm fan to that - seems to be working but only bringing temps down about 5C.

Good case cooling should be enough.

Unless you will be clocking the cards are designed to run hot.So don't worry about it.

However I have a fan bracket screwed into the bottom hard drive cage with a 120mm at 7v cooling the gfx,the NB, ram and cpu area as I'm water cooled.

I'm not comfortable with any electronic component running at 80+C under load even if its designed for that temp hehe :D

Yeah was planning on OCing, moved the fan a bit and its providing some nice cooling on the RAM and the Northbridge temp has dropped almost 20C! and still 5C less on the GPU(s).

result! mounted an 80mm (actually prolly more like 70mm) over the top of the vents behind the SLI connector as an extractor and got the idle temp down to 48C from 59C... unfortunatly don't have space to mount up a 120mm blowing air in as well - if I could I imagine it would be possible to really cool this card down.

This is a v. ghetto setup tho lol...

For cooling yes... something like my P4 system with the 250mm side panel fan would be nice.

Unfortunatly its the only case I could find that matched the look I wanted.

Akasa eclipse looks similar to that (better, imo) and offers far better cooling. It would really be a much better way to improve cooling than stapping a fan to every little gap.

well I'm now running 600MHz core and 1400MHz memory no artifacts and maxed out its not going over 75C - I believe "operational" temp norm for this GPU is a hideous 80C. Going to try for 625 core and 1450 memory.
