7950X3D - Weird ram behavior

I've seen lots of reports online of memory problems on Asus Zen 4 motherboards; now that might be because more people buy Asus or there could be a problem with that specific brand.

Not tried EXPO actually was waiting for 2 sticks but might give it a whirl.

Definitely, a kick in the face when you've spent 3k, but also expected when we're operating at the edges of desktop right now.

EXPO worked like intel xmp for me - running 64gb of 6000 - just some teething issues you'll be fine !

You maybe correct that the brand is more popular but I just don't understand why it is. Everybody complains about the RMA process from them (apart from youtubers ofcourse) and they increase the price just because they have their name on the box... even MBA gpus have a bump in price when it comes to ASUS...

But like some people say "Asus built a name by quality, now its they have reduced costs and reap the rewards of the quality reputation"...

I've personally had nothing but bad experiences with them in terms of faulty or failing hardware (since I first built my own PC 20 years ago), but this is anecdotal so I can't apply my experiences to everyone. Big PC shops seem to use Asus boards for their pre-builts (sometimes exclusively) so I can't see how they could be that bad in terms of reliability.

Asus do come up with some innovative new features before their peers like the M2 latch and PCIE release button, that's the only real positive I can see over their competitors. I suppose the aesthetics may appeal to people too.
