Just looked in the bank account and ive saved up £796 for my new pc.

Looking at:

*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) @3.33Ghz / Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Intel X58 / OCZ 6GB DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Gold (3x2GB) Triple Channel DDR3 Bundle

XFX ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Antec 300 Gaming Case and Antec Basiq Plus 550W Modular PSU

£754.96

This leaves £41.04 for a hard drive and dvd-rw? :(

Does the mobo in that bundle support IDE? If so i can temporarily use my old IDE dvd-rom untill next thursday's payday.

Anyone suggest me a hard-drive? or better alternatives to the spec above.

Yep, that motherboard supports IDE so the old drive shouldn't be a problem.

As for recommendations, it seems to me that it would be cheaper to buy the components in the top bundle seperately (the CPU, Motherboard and RAM) and then overclock it yourself to save you some cash. Overclocking is relatively simple and there's loads of great guides on the net.

here are the seperate component links:
CPU - Motherboard - RAM

All three are on this week only offers, so come to £463.97, £36 quid cheaper

£36 cheaper? i could have sworn i read somewhere it was £7 cheaper bundled so didnt look. I'll have a look now.

It's slightly cheaper, about £5 cheaper, buying seperately because there's a cooler in the bundle too. Still, that's with this week only offers, after this week, the bundle will be cheaper. Plus, when you buy the bundle, you are guaranteed to get a chip that will overclock well. If you bought seperatedly, there's a chance you could get a duff chip that will barely overclock.
