Hi all, thought i'd start a thread for this as i'm in need of some urgent help whilst at a LAN party.

My normal setup would be 2x 22" 60Hz monitors + 1x 24" 120Hz monitor, which works fine.

However, i'm at a LAN with just my 120Hz monitor and when i select 120Hz i get green artifacts on my desktop...

I have tried:

- No overclocks

- This 2D profile trick:

- Disabling 2D clocks

- A different DL-DVI cable

But nothing seems to work. Think i'm going to try and plug is a second monitor and leave it on the floor.

Should i just add this to the pile of **** we call AMD/ATi driver issues?

No, because it's not true, and it's reasons like this why people continue to make such claims.

"I have an issue, can't figure it out. I know, I've got an AMD card so it MUST be the drivers *end of investigation*"

If it's been working fine previously and nothing has changed software wise, it could be possible that the case has been knocked while in transit.

Is the card full seated in the PCI-E slot, for example?

Does the DVI output look okay? Free from damage?

Nope. I stand by my original comment, due to the fact I've nothing but issues with the 7970s.

The DVI connectors all look fine. I will however give the card a re-seat, can't hurt to try.

try different cable.

Have had all sorts of artifacting issues in past related to cables being loose/rubbish/bent

Edit: I should read - you have tried diff cable...

Is it just the desktop or in games as well? I would've though raising the 2D clocks up would fix it if it were just the desktop, but it looks like you've tried that.

more likely the card isnt working as it should.
to exclude options I would test with another brand of 120hz monitor.
but likely a rma for the card.
driver issue isnt likely.

I run 3 screens at 120hz without any issues.
best thing I did except the ssd ;)

Have you changed the bclk on you system, I found today when I booted from cold on a 102 bclk, GPU tweak freaked out and kept telling me to reboot. My system is ok changing the bclk and doing a warmboot but not from cold.

Hope you get your problem sorted soon.

I had a good AMD driver problem the other day and an unusal cure

Problem - I installed a single HD 7970 in my new rig the other day with the latest drivers. The problem was the highest resolution I could get was around 1600 x 1200 on my 30" monitor.

Solution - Install a GTX 690 with 306.23 drivers, set resolution to 2560 x 1600, put HD 7970 back in, just left both sets of drivers on there.

The above problem was probably something simple I missed but I thought it was funny using an nvidia card and drivers to sort it out.

That might of worked for now but I can see problems in the future, did your monitor have a driver disc?

For me its an advantage having both sets of drivers on the machine, I own both AMD and nvidia cards of various sorts and it makes swapping them over easy.
