7970/50 Arctic Accelero Users

Well I have fitted my old Accelero to my reference 7970 and apart from the coil whine it has had since new it is running damn well perfect. Clocked up to 1200/1600 nice 1.2v applied. Heaven running away nicely with a core temp of only 55.c.

And the best thing is I have no Ram sinks and No VRM sinks on the card. The VRM's are sitting around 72.c which is actually cooler than with the stock 7970 cooler.

Job is a good un as they say...Now to wait for it to explode.

Edit - Furmark is pushing the VRM's up to nearly 100.c. Meh rated to 125.c loads of room left. The heat coming from under my desk is quite impressive as well.

VRM's reached 110.c it was still running ok. I suppose it shows how well a small bit of alloy works when stuck on.

I have ordered some glue so will stick the sinks on when it arrives.
 
I was using a 7950 with an accelero but sold that as I had a Titan which also sold today. I have a 680 coming tomorrow which I will use until It gets used in a build.

I generally use whatever I have that's not needed.

I have a question for you matt if i could please?
If i did get Accelero for my card, would this allow me to overclock more due to the better cooling? even though i can't adjust the volts?
Max i can get so far is about 1210-1215/1680 depending on benchmark.
