Had it hanging on the PCB for about 30 minus and the tape held, over time it probably would, but without vrm readouts on the DD, I was glad it was a tight fit, good peace of mind that it's not going anywhere pete.

Yeah, I hear that.
Have to say though, I've had it attached to my old card for the last few days and the card's been manhandled, the cooler's been on and off etc and it's still exactly as it was when I put it on.
Of course, it's not as solid as glue and I'd probably find myself constantly checking temps to make sure it's ok :D
If I couldn't read VRM temps, I'd want some extra security too :)

Anyway, I'll let you know how it performs in the field whenever my new card turns up.

EDIT:
Matt, that looks like you may have actually improved airflow to them. Maybe.

Here are the results.

Using G1 + AC Sinks

Using the Copper Sinks +L Shaped AC Sink on VRm left

VRM seems identical. Everything else is better. I think i might improve vrm if i put a whole line of akasa tape over the vrms instead of those little squares. Also one of the vrm sinks didn't stick very well and fell off a few times but its on at the moment. Might take it apart and use akasa tape.

Worth a bash I s'pose, but I wouldn't expect much difference unless the adhesive is notably poor on the Enzo's.
Are you thinking that it may help if the gaps between the VRM's are covered?

I tried the long strip method but its not as effective as i hoped. Plus its hard to ensure you're placing the sink exactly on the vrm. So i ended up scrapping that half way through. This time i carefully cut out squares, some slightly larger some slightly smaller for the vrm's and placed all the sinks on there. Knocked 1c off the temps. The akasa tape is really good, its won me over. Who needs G1.

I wondered what took you so long :)
Like I said mate, if that tape can hold the monster Alpenfohn sink...

Btw, is your new lower core temp due to Gelid GC and are you happy now?

I'm happy.

Core temps are lower, yes probably because of Gelid. I think the L shaped sink has made a big difference. I'm seeing much less artifacts when overclocked heavily and vrm temps rise. I would definitely recommend copying my setup and using those cooper heatsinks on the vrms and putting a chunky sink on the left vrm.

Gonna re-download farcry 3 now.
