7970 and pcie3

hi. my board is not pcie3 and my 7970 does not seem to be a good clocker but i was wondering, if i changed boards to z77 with pcie3 which the 7970 is then maybe i could get a better oc on the card??? what do you think

OC is on the silicon quality not PCI lane bandwidth.

1% increase in performance for single card, around 5% for cards.

Not worth it.

Nah not at all.

It's holding the performance back by a miniscule amount.

Clocks are unrelated.
