7970 black edition.

"One thing I was kind of let down with on this card was the non-reference cooler. While XFX stated in the press materials that it would run quieter and cooler than the one that AMD sent with the initial wave of samples, in my testing that wasn't the case. The dual-fan cooler wasn't quieter when running a full load of Battlefield 3 at 2560x1600 and in fact the temperatures ran noticeably higher"

so this card runs hotter and just as loud as the reference cooler lol, just buy a cheap one and clock it yourself by the looks of it

Well the pretty much failed to mention that the power consumption of the system was 36W higher, and it was what 2-3C higher.

The real question is, what voltage was it running as people have been saying clock speed alone barely raises the wattage. It might be "ready" for higher clocks by having a higher default voltage, in which case the comparison with the reference heatsink is useless. IE what would the reference sink give temp wise at 1000mhz and possibly a higher voltage.
