7970 browser black screen

Had my gigabyte 7970 a week now, running cat 12.4 with ab 2.2.2 whilst browsing the web last night i opened a new tab and got a windowed black screen first tab fine everything useable. Using internet explorer win 7. Is this related to the 2d clock issues people have been posting of flash in web pages. Gaming has been fine but have only played MW3 since installing not had time to try anything else. Also noticed a little texture flicker whilst running heaven benchmark but no artifacts, take it this is down to drivers? Card is still clock out of box stock. Anyone recommend better drivers than 12.4

12.6 or the beta 12.7 seems to be good for single card user.
