OK I'm having issues with the displayport, this maybe a no brainer but I'm just very tired of it all :(

I setup my system on a single 17" monitor before moving it to its new home.

At the moment I have:

Monitor[U2410] -> DVI (Dual Link) -> 1st Slot 7970 [DVI port]
Monitor[U2410] -> DVI-D (Dual Link) -> Mini DP Adapter -> 1st Slot 7970 [Mini DP port]
Monitor[U2410] -> DVI-D (Dual Link) -> Mini DP Adapter -> 1st Slot 7970 [Mini DP port]

Now, the monitor connected to the DVI port is on while the remaining two power off (no signal).

The mini DP adapters are those from MSI which were shipped in the box (one in each box), from my limited understanding they are active?

The drivers I have are these:
AMD Catalyst™ driver version 8.95.5 (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/HD78007Support.aspx)

Can anyone point me in the right direction please, it's doing my head in.

Edit: I should add that I successfully ran Furmark with these drivers and both cards fired up with 99% use, no problems

From what I can see the MSI cards comes with 1 miniDP to DVI adapter (active?) and 2 miniDP to DP adapters.

Isn't the simplest way to connect the monitors:

  • Monitor 1 DVI from the graphics card to DVI on the monitor
  • Monitors 2 & 3 miniDP to DP adapter from the graphics card and then a DP to DP cable to the monitor
FYI the DVI-D connectors on the U2410 aren't dual link.

Wish I could help mate, but two of my monitors are DP so have used those ports and they work fine.

Yea looks like I need 2 DP-DP male cables and use the 2x DP to miniDP adapters that came with the cards

I have DP ports also on the monitors

That's why I suggested you use them ;)

According to Dell the U2410 is supplied with a DP-DP cable.

Surveyor your a life saver :)! Climbed into the loft(where the U2410 boxes are stored), grabbed what I initially believed to be HDMI cables and plugged them in.

I can say these work great now thanks allot for your help
