Got an SSD recently and got round to installing it etc 2 days ago. Playing BF3 fine until I turned my PC on today and scaling is at 30-40% for both cards and frames are worse than ****. One card scales perfect and gives great frames, when I enable Crossfire it's back to 30-40% usage. I don't have any other games installed besides Fifa so I can't check. The only things I've done between it working perfectly yesterday and not today are:

-Changing settings in CCC
-Re-installed Origin
-Changed the SSD from IDE to AHCI mode

I doubt the SSD is the fault but I can't eliminate it. I've Control Panel uninstalled and ATIman uninstalled the: 12.7 Betas, 12.6 WHQL, 12.6 Betas, 12.4 WHQL.

It was working peefectly with the 12.7 Betas until one of the above ruined it.

Has this happened to anyone else here or have you seen it somewhere else? I'd rather not have to install Windows again.

Yeah I tried it but it did nothing. I never use CAP's tbh, it was working perfectly without CAP's the last 3 months. I'm going to try re-seating the cards and a different Xfire bridge.

Do you have any programmes installed overclocking the cards, maybe these are interfering with the clocks ( setting one card but not the other) and hence the scaling.

No I didn't at the time but I installed AB to see what was happening. After a re-install of Origin and BF3 repair earlier it was ok. But I just tried playing again and it's back to where it was.

I would say its something to do with bf3 i had same issue, ended up deleting bf3 and re-downloading it . I tried a repair and it worked for maybe 1 or 2 games then back again.

I had a similar problem. There is a bug in bf3, switch to windowed mode via the bf3 options menu then go to full screen exit game and restart bf3.

12.7 beta is very fast in bf3.

Also make sure you are running bf3 in ultra mode to test or the scaling will be worse. Load up a 64 player map like gulf of Oman.

I ended up re-installing Windows in the end! Everything perfect except I can't remember what settings I had in my user.cfg file. Feels more stuttery than it was.

CAPs are something you really need to keep on top of if you're using crossfire, and they're essential if you play the latest games.

They've never given me an increase in performance. From reading online they're best used on older driver sets that don't have the latest profiles for a game.

They can fix various crossfire issues even when using the latest drivers. Primarily for crossfire users but even sometimes beneficial for single GPU users.

Latest caps address these issues:

New profiles added to this release:

- Diablo 3: Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing and Super Sample Anti-Aliasing can now be enabled for this title through the Catalyst Control Center for single and multi-GPU configurations

- Call of Duty: World at War: Resolve corruption when enabling Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center on single GPU configurations

- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – further improvements to CrossFire performance

- Myths and Heroes 3: Improves CrossFire performance

- XCOM: Enemy Unknown : Improves CrossFire performance

- Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Future Soldier: Improves CrossFire performance and resolves flickering seen when running in CrossFire mode
