I'm on the latest 13.2 drivers and borderlands 2 is pretty much unplayable with crossfire enabled. Need to test other games but its terrible.
Am I missing something? I've tried FPS limiting, vsync on and off but to no avail.

Try using RadeonPro. Create a profile using the game exe. Go to the advanced tab and select flip que size 1. Then go to tweaks and tick triple buffering and select vsync always on. Then go to and tick Dynamic framerate control under tweaks and put in 59fps. Now what does that do for smoothness?

So there isn't a fix for this? Just a work around requiring another app?
Will take a look. Can I set this at 119hz (assuming you're aiming for 1 under monitor refresh).

Its not an issue im aware of, but i don't play the game in question.

You need to set the dynamic frame rate control to your average frame rate so whatever that is. Either that or just below your refresh rate (1-2 fps) if your average frame rate is really high. (higher than refresh rate)

Make sure you report the issue to the AMD so it will get looked into. ;)

Borderlands 2 back when i used to play was forced to play on a single card due to poor scaling and stuttering, not played it recently (only 1 card anyway, so cant comment on newer drivers)

Scaling could be the reason. Try what i suggested Rossi otherwise maybe just use one card. Its not a demanding title is it?

Will try RadeonPro this evening and report back.

I can still get very good frame rates on one card yes, but i don't want to have to disable Crossfire every time i play it. Besides, i have a monitor capable of 120-144hz, which i want to put to use.

Did it work?

7970 cf, 13.2 beta 3 or 4? 1080 120Hz, no stutter, if anything it's the best driver I've used for bl2.

Killed ulps?

I have it maxed out and capped at 120fps.

Sanctuary stutters in the first few seconds of loading but besides that it's the smoothest I've had it in cf.

13.2 BETA 7

Killed ULPS straight away.

Hang on, i just thought of something. Do you have PhysX on? That's one thing i didn't try, turning off PhysX.

Try roll back to the early betas? I haven't tried the newer.

If it persists, override the catalyst profile and disable cf for the exe, should force single card as soon as you open the game without having to manually disable it, I use this for a few low end games that hate dual cards.

Let us know how you get on :)

I'll double check what version I'm on this evening, it's one of the early ones anyhow.

Beta 7s been OK for me so far allbeit I haven't done much with them.

edit: other than Tomb Raider salvaging crashes

Also regarding BL2 remember the PhysX is hardware accelerated so you'll probably need to turn it off

Been playing it for many many hours with it on, runs off of CPU fine on Low but like a bag of balls on high. Will try turning it off with crossfire though, it could well be the source of the issue if not the drivers.
