7970 DCII can't overvolt

Reason I mentioned the gpu tweak version is that I just installed a Asus 7850 DC2 and the latest version of gpu tweak and my max voltage was 1165mv, but rolling back to 2.0.6 I got upto 1300mv

1125v in GPU Tweak :p

Hiya, just a thought which version(s) of asus gpu tweak have you tried?

All of them.

FOllowing this thread with interest as I am seriously considering a 7970...

ARe there any problems reported with OCing VTX3D X-edition cards? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-007-VX&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938

Can't imagine their being any problem, I wouldn't mind that VTX card, but I'd take a GTX680 over it.

I play dogfighting games like Il2:CloD and RoF, so VRAM is important for card to be future proof, more so than in usual games. Otherwise, I'd take Nvidia every time. 680 2gb is overpriced as it is, 4gb version is bound to have an absolutely crazy price tag, so no choice other than AMD in my case :(

I was set on the asus 7970 for a while then reading up persistent problems were happening for many users. After doing a lot more reading i am going to go with sapphire Oc version had five sapphire cards in the past and all of them were great. Shame i liked the potential of the asus.

GTX670 4GB model for around £400..

Hold the phone.
Asus GPU tweak does indeed let it go to 1.4v (haven't tested it)

EDIT : Although it didn't change OC'ing, so not sure if it's actually working, it removes Dual Link DVI, so it's not really an option anyway.

good choice, card runs cool too; even at 1.3 V, not that i'd dare go that high anymore..;)
