Ever since I built this PC I've been having random flickers. It lasts less than a second so it's hard to capture but it's basically like white with some lines, usually not even all over screen and it happens fast. Like this at 0:29 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5amSM8GxSyA
It comes and goes, sometimes takes hours or not at all in days, sometimes few in a row and I thought oh well and haven't been trying to fix it until this happened:
1499126

Sound and everything in background worked and I couldn't see or get out from this.
I am running latest drivers and catalyst and also have latest MSI afterburner installed and should note it also happened on last 3 versions of drivers.

What I've done is disconnected DVI cable and tried HDMI and flicker happened again after a while. I've tried onboard graphics card with mine out and it didn't happen, I also play xbox 360 and ps3 on this monitor and no flickering there so I know it's not cables or monitor itself.

What I've done now is reduced stock clocks which are core: 1050 mhz and memory: 1375 mhz (I have MSI 7970 Twin frozr 3 BE, which is OCed out of box) to 800 and 925 and haven't had a flicker in hours so that might be it.
But now I'm worried if I'm getting flickers on stock settings is the card still bad, should I rma it, keep raising settings until I get no flickers, what to do?

P.S. Thing from picture hasn't happened again and it only happened once so might have been something else but I don't know..

I'm not using unofficial overclocking method, checked cfg just in case and it's 0.
I don't think it's triggered by flash for me, it happens while watching a movie, just browsing, chatting etc.. I made profile in afteburner where I downclocked and it's not happening anymore at all, I just switch to profile 1(with stock clocks) when gaming. Been playing for few hours and haven't noticed flicker in game, maybe there was but I mistook it for ingame thing, paying very close attention now to check if it happens again.

One more thing, I was playing Trine and noticed after finishing my gpu was at like 70c and my fan curve is set 1c=1% so fan was at 70+%. Is that bad?

I do have firefox open most of time so it could be it, still don't know why it fixes itself when I underclock. Gonna download chrome and use it for a while and see if it happens again.

Edit: So I was just in Chrome and opened a youtube video and flicker happened, flash issue? But then again it did happen when I didn't have browser open and was watching a movie hm

Just noticed my 7970 goes to 80c with fan on 80+% (due to fan curve in afterburner), this isn't right? This seems very excessive plus flicker problem, is it bad after all?

Was playing a game, not idle.

Here's pic of my case inside and from area where it's at. I know cables are mess but they're out of the way and ones inside I never look at and ones on outside I've been moving a lot so haven't gotten around to tidying up.

Fan on heatsink blowing toward exhaust one on the back, ones on top aren't connected because they make noise and I'm not sure if I should have them on even. Soundcard is below graphics card and just noticed little thing that moved out of place next to it is dust guard.
Not sure what else I can do except fix top fans and turn them on if that will help.

P.S. There was another fan below cables but removed it because it also was off and with all the fans around it didn't want it on.

P.P.S. Both underclocking profile and upping 2d clocks fixes flicker, just matter of deciding which one I want now.

Well I just did OCCT test for half an hour and temperature was 90-95 degrees Celsius.. If that's not bad I don't know what is.

Also during CPU test my i5 3570k was under heavy load at ~70 temp, OCed from 3.4 to 3.8, is that a lot?
