7970 folding?

I hear 79xx have become good folders for F@H.

Any special requirements to get them from waste of space to folding grace?

Sounds good. Currently running MW@H and Rosetta and thinking of switching back to F@H.

Noticed in the log that I was only given WORK ACK(400) credit for completing my first WU for this... PPD is still high though.

Very annoying thing about this also is if you restart the client before the WU is complete it goes back to 0% :mad:

Think the calculator got a bit confused or something. Leveled out after about 5 mins back to normal.... Was thinking improved WUs or something

anyone else get choppy/sluggish performance after a few hours folding on these cards? If I'm watching a video/stream my whole system will start lagging every few seconds. I pause the gpu and after a little bit it goes back to normal. temps are around 65c.

I fold 4 cores smp and gpu while using my system for everything else!

might be that hardware acceleration thing you mentioned as it only goes all sluggish when I'm watching video after a few hours gpu crunching. SMP folding is just fine, even game with it on and don't notice anything.

HD video is a breeze, it's when I try to game on it that 'sometimes' I get issues. Had a few driver crashes when playing MP starcraft 2 and I forget to pause gpu folding

Is all fine until the moment of blank-screen and then horrible artefacts until I reboot

Anyone else still folding ok with these? I suddenly started getting horrible 3k ppd WUs so I turned it off. Just tried it again and still getting 11293 WU

Putting client-type, beta flags on of course...

Lowered the clock on my 7970 to 925 Mhz, but reduced to volts to 960 which should hopefully save a bit of power. Shaved about 10c off the temps too. TPF gone from 1.25s to 1.35s so not a bad trade off.
