7970 Lightning BE XFire

Just fitted a second 7970 Lightning BE to crossfire my setup. Managing 200 fps in BF3 with all settings on ultra and 4xAA with no O/C on the cards

I tried to O/C the cards but my PSU is only 750W and the power monitor is hitting 700w during 3dMark so backed them off to standard clock settings for now. I was getting random lockups whilst benching.

What power you drawing while gaming? Probably a better test...

I'd imagine CF 7970 Lightning BEs run close to 750W limit while gaming as well but there's only one way to tell!

Pulling over 600w whilst gaming with stock settings. Time for a beefier PSU me thinks. I sort of expected it when I decided to go CF 7970 as originally I was running with 1 7850 when I built the rig. Still trying to convince myself I don't need a third Lightning lol.

Been playing more BF3 and the fps drops to 120 on some of the larger maps. Still chuffed to bits with it though.
