Can anyone tell me if I connect my 7970 lightning via the display port on the back to the display port on my monitor will I be able to run 2560x1600 or 1980x1080 120hz and 3d ?

Obviously I know that the lightning has on single link dvi but isnt the display port supposed to do high res and 120hz?

Cant believe I just realized my monitor has display port :o

EDIT also are display port cables like hdmi where they don't need to be expensive to get a great picture?

Yes you can run that res etc through dp
And as for your last question, that is very subjective, i have hdmi cables ranging from £10-£100 and there is a difference, just depends on the connecting kit.

Will be fine. Just get a cheap-ish cable and you'll be fine, so long as its physical quality isn't too bad.
