Hi i recently started to ponder just how far i could push my sapphire 7970 without the need of adjusting the voltage...
Firstly im not in the know when comes to OC video cards althoe i do try my best so previously i used to go by a couple of peoples chosen overclocks thats worked out great.
But yesturday i read post here with benchmarking crysis 2 results so i tryed mine i got 58 average thats stock did a overclock got about 67 again this was with no voltage adjustments.

Soo i felt bit chuft i got a increase and i got the overclocking bug i started to get greedy pushed and pushed some more then i ran into the old lock up.

so restarted after a hour reading online i found many using the 20+voltage to give more bandwidth so i did several, some gave me triangles so i stopped the benchmark restarted again.
i managed to get just over the 70fps mark on just 1 loop, But when played bf3 i got lock up.

SO i have now gone back to my old overclock as shown below with the last result on benchmark being my score.

has anyone else done better without adjusting the voltage im sure many have. :(

I've got 1150/1650 on stock voltage with the +20% power control in CCC

If you put it up to 20% in Trixx you should be able to push it to 1150 no problem

Hi dave yeh gonna try that out m8 come back with another benchmark cheers.

UPDATE ok yeh not given me much but given me something before i got 67.9 Now with that slight overclock i got 69.3 beats kick in the back side.

Nice one, i've found that overclock is the sweetspot between performance/heat, there's not a lot that won't run at highest settings, plus it shouldn't get hotter than 73c in benches or games.

Thx dave yeh unfortunatly after few hours of playing i got displayrecovery while playing.
So gonna head back to stock clock, im also new to this twin bios i hear your supposed to flip switch for performance mode.?
Not sure witch 1 or 2 thx dave beast.
