Hi guys my question is simple past summer i spent out a grand on parts compponants as a farther i cant afford to go out buy all new parts. Not without the wife killing me first, So that said i know the 7970 in compatable but ive not seen no user reviews of one running on a 1155.
If anyone has ran this GPU on a p67 series please can you confirm all is well. i know there maybe a performance decrease.
Thanks guys

awsome stuff here. ok heres the deal i was after the XFX black edition witch think they said had some kind liquid cooling too. is this a good card to buy.

the black edition has a aftermarket cooler on it and may be better but comes with a higher price, im quite happy with the reference cooler myself

I wondered about this but people tell me the bandwidth of PCIE 2.0 at 16x isnt close to being filled by current cards anyway.

I was interesting in jumping to the Asrock Gen 3 Extreme 7 board, which has Tri-Fire (2 x 16x and 1 x 8x) and weirdly in a few benchmarks, the P67 motherboards performed better with multi-GPU than the PCI-E 3.0/2 x 16x boards. Make of this what you will, but I think that 2 x 7970 sharing 16x PCIE 2.0 lanes, are virtually no different to sharing 32x PCIE2.0/3.0 lanes. So a single card will have no issues whatsoever.

Temps seem to be ok, it runs cooler than a GTX580, but apparently the fan is quite noisy. You might want to consider a card with an after-market cooler fitted, not sure if there are any yet. But they should be arriving soon.

Have u tested battlefield 3 on that card, my past 2 cards other than my nvidia has been powercolor.

@Dave Beast

Yes, at ultra settings at 1080p I can run with vsync on and get constant 60fps. Temps never get over 75ºc when full on gaming either. Clocks at 1150/1600 at +20% volts, only using CCC to oc.
