7970 Upgrade

I have a 7970 that overclocks to GHz ed. speeds but I find now that I can't hit 60fps on very high / max settings without AA, so I am feeling it might be a time for an upgrade. I have a 4770k @4.7GHz, 8GB DDR2133 RAM and a 750GB SSD already.

I haven't been paying attention to graphics cards prices or performance for a while. How much will it cost to get a significant upgrade?

By significant I mean 20+ FPS, kind of like when I went from a 8600GTS to a 4890 and a 4890 to a 7970?

7970s are fairly cheap to go cf.
A 980 is the minimum I'd say to be significantly better.

I am upgrading from a 7970 ghz to a 980ti after much debate between that and the Fury x. From what I have seen and heasrd, will be more than happy with it.

Would not surprise me if you get double the performance in games (Even out of the box with a heavily factory OCd card like the Gigabyte G1 or MSI Gaming).

I've just gone from a Matrix HD 7970 GHz Edition to a Zotac 908ti today in which i'm very pleased with the improvements seen so far

Just changed from 7970 xfire to 980ti sli or will be when they turn up! Hoping for a bit of a jump in performance
