Hi Guys

just to give you a little bit of an update. we have loads of pre orders for the 7970 blocks and I wanted to make sure everyone was in the know.

EK are sending us nickel acetal blocks first. we should be getting them midway through next week.

the Nickel plexi blocks are due the week after as they are still being manufactured at the moment.

at the moment, the ETAs on the website are being updated by myself as soon as I hear anything and I have a tracking tab open on my desktop to keep me on top of it.

as soon as I know anything more about the blocks you will all have updates.

Also, to answer a lot of the queries in the private support sections of the forums, we will have more than enough stock to fulfil all back orders. If you order your block or an OcUK tech lab 7970, you are GUARANTEED a block to be assigned to your order.

I have updated the pictures to the new official pictures too, check out the product images for a great overview of how these blocks are looking.

EK-FC7970 Full Cover Waterblock - Nickel Acetal **EN Nickel Plating** @ £79.99 inc VAT

WC-164-EK_400.jpg

EK-FC7970 is a high performance full-cover water block for AMD reference design Radeon HD 7970 and -7950 graphics card. Please check our Cooling Configurator online compatibility system for detailed compatibility list!

This water block directly cools the GPU, RAM as well as VRM (voltage regulation module) as water flows directly over these critical areas thus allowing the graphics card and it's VRM to remain stable under high overclocks. EK-FC7970 water block also features a very high flow design therefore it can be easily used in liquid cooling systems using weaker water pumps.

Base is made of electroless nickel (EN) plated electrolytic copper while the top is made of quality POM Acetal material. The sealing is performed by quality rubber washers. Screw-in brass standoffs are pre-installed and allow for safe, painless installation procedure. Block is mounted with enclosed M3x4 DIN7985 screws.

EKWB also offers a single-slot I/O bracket which frees adjacent PCI/PCIe expansion slot. The bracket is available as an optional add-on and can be purchased through EKWB webshop.

G1/4" threaded fittings can be used on both side of the water block (on copper and plastic) and 2 plugs (EK-Plug G1/4) are enclosed!

Enclosed:
- EK-FC7970 series water block
- mounting mechanism with screw-in brass standoffs
- thermal pads

Thanks for the update mate, but I'm not interested in nickel blocks anymore. Would rather play it safe tbh.

Any news on the Copper / Acetal ones? thanks

we do not stock the copper blocks sadly. that combo always sells really poorly for us.

the acetal block is a great alternative to plexi admittedly as plexi is fragile if you overtighten your fittings.

There has been a shipping delay from what I can see on the carriers site. Hopefully I will know more tomorrow

FTFY :D

Plexi is strong! It's used in riot shields, aquarium wondows etc.

If you crack it, only one thing can be said

anymore news mate

sadly not, there has been a shipping delay with the courier which is meaning that we are still waiting. :(

nope, I have seen loads of plexi blocks crack with only slight pressure.

it is more fragile than acetal and that is a fact.

but it is fine as long as you aren't heavy handed with it.

I just got an email confirming its being shipped (Acetal one) :)
Probably monday before courier collects so won't get it until tuesday more than likely - thanks rjk ;)

if it shipped tonight, it will have left us tonight

they came in at the last minute but the warehouse stayed to pack the orders :)

it may be with you on Monday yet zoomee :)

let us all know what you think of the block when it arrives chief

Wahoo and it arrived this morning. Beautifully constructed. Just got to wait for the danger den reservoir to arrive from America now to be able to test it out. :(

Thanks OCUK, superb service as always.
