Dude, it took me 30 minutes to do, take off cooler, take off any pads left behind, clean gpu with tim cleaner, apply tim and bolt on new block.

Never done it before, but it does look easy. I might have to get me one of those. £80 seems a lot though. :)

Noise and temps is why I will be going water cooled (2 EK blocks will be here tomorrow confirmed). Also aesthetics but more for noise. Running games in SLI soon ramps up the fans and I hate noise.

If you have good temps, I wouldn't bother.

+1

Noise I'd the reason I watercooled my complete system!

First time it may take 30mins or more, after that it's an easy 10min job.

At least the stand offs are now prefixed which helps massively.

Wish I got a waterblock. Spent 65 on the prolimatech cooler with crappy fans so spent anotehr 20 quid on better fans that hardly improved. Temps only slightly better than stock cooler... Might just be my small case and no airflow though...

Wow that was a bad investment lol.

My bro has a watercooled CPU on his old computer, how often are you supposed to change the fluid?

Its never been changed i think this is the reason it runs so crap.

Yes I'm gonna try and sell the cooler on the MM. Only had it for about 3 weeks and the first time I took it off my card one of the holding screws snapped... Dunno how to get a replacement screw.

Still buying all the kit for a WC + the block would've worked out much more expensive. Plus my case probably wouldn't fit it.

Yu going water cooled matt?

Not full water cooled, dont like the look of pipes every where but i might get a water block for my 7970 eventually.

However these new 12.11 drivers mean i dont really need to overclock my card any more, i can run the default fan profile now which means the card is quiet.

But yeah, ill probably get one eventually. It doesnt look that hard. :)

Just to check something, you do realise you need more than just a waterblock... Right? :p

If you're water cooling your card, you may as well do your CPU, it's only gonna cost around £40 extra :)

What are my other options? Air coolers?

Arctic Accelero Xtreme 7970

That's all i could find, sounds like the install takes ages though. Any other options?
