Hi,

I am looking for a couple of waterblocks for my 7970s and am after a bit of advice, as I am not sure whether the go for the Watercool 79x0 or EK CSQs as I cant find any comparissons between them. How does the EK perfrom compared to the 79x0?

Heatkillers are better for a thermal point of view but EK have superior flow.

Google 'BundyMania 7970' and hit the second link, he reviews and compares every 7970 block on the market. The EK blocks used are the old style ones, though the flow paths etc... is still the same.

Tbh just go with what you like the look of, both are amongst the top 3 blocks (the other being aquacomputer).

I dont mind the Mysteron look on the EK cards, but think I will go for the Watercool ones as they do a better job of cooling.

For the crossfire bridge is Serial or Parallel better? On previous builds i have only used serial using tubing and not had any probs.

I don't know about heatkiller, but Aquacomputer say serial only due to them being quite restrictive, I'd imagine heatkiller are the same given the very similar design.

looking on the Watercool webite it looks like their official connector can be configured either way, so doubt it will be an issue. I will stick with Serial as nvere had any probs with my 5870s working that way.
