Which AMD Drivers are the best to use and what version number is beta

Also what are caps and do they make a difference

Try the latest drivers and CAP's off the AMD website. The CAP's are a must even for single card setups, giving performance improvements in some games.

Just download the latest from AMD's website.
There is so much variation between peoples systems, asking "what works best" is like asking how long a piece of string is

I agree, use the latest. It always works for me.
You could also update from the CCC and even Steam if you like.
