Hi All,

Just got the P170EM Laptop with the 7970m within. Installed Windows 8 and the latest Enduro drivers.

In device manager its showing 2 devices, the 7970m and the Intel HD one. I believe this means its operating in the basic Intel mode. If I run a game will it automatically switch to the 7970m ONLY mode? If so, how can I verify this :)

Thanks All!

This is a laptop though and you'd want the intel doing 2D stuff for battery reasons.

Run a couple of benchmarks and also run something like Afterburner. Afterburner should show the 7970m gpu clocking up in operation.

Hey - Looked in the BIOS and doesnt look like you can disable on board graphics.

Just ran counter-strike GO on all high settings and got 5fps. Looks like the Radeon isn't getting enabled. Any ideas?

I'm not sure where to look in CCC but not sure where to look. If I right click on CCC from the bottom right it just has:

1. Intel (R) HD Graphics 4000

and no other adapters. In device manager there is the Radeon adapter however.

And yes CS GO was full screen :)

slightly ot, but it makes me warm inside knowing the next gen consoles are most likely going to be powered by the 7970m.
