Waiting will benefit you in two ways mate
Even if its not - the existing 7990 will fall in price

Unbelievable price on a dual GPU card, how does it hold its own against a 780?
Is there any idea when this month the new series is getting announced?
Is there any idea when this month the new series is getting announced?
I am incredibly impatient as I been waiting a while already to save up for the card...
When I listed the parts I wanted, I wasn't intending to spend too much on my system as I have not spent a lot of money on a build before, relying on either budget parts or hand me downs from my brother. I originally planned to get the 7950, however when saving up the money I made a decision that I will go to 7970 because it's not a great amount more expensive and I may as well spend that extra for a better experience.
Then the Overclockers sale came on and I decided, I could save a little extra and get the 7990. Then I read about the 9000 series being announced in September and released in October
Now I am thinking about the 9000 series. So I don't really want to be waiting TOO long for the 9000 series announcement because I been waiting very impatiently for a fair bit of time already to upgrade the card. With the price of the HIS 7990, it is almost too good to turn down, but I still have that curiosity over the 9000 and even if I get the 7990, until the 9000 series details are released I will have it stuck in the back of my head that I have made a mistake.
Yet, will the prices drop to below what that HIS 7990 is selling for now on the weekly offer? I wish I could just make a decision and deal with it. As easy as it sounds, I just can't seem to bloody do it.
If I keep waiting and waiting for certain criteria to be met before buying a card and with me constantly changing what the criteria is, I am worried if I don't just get a card now I will never get one.
Hi guys,
I will try and keep it as short as possible as I tend to ramble a lot, saying very little in return. It's a curse on my part, one that I have failed to break (see! I am at it already).
Anyway, on Thursday, it's pay day, which means I will be able to afford a 7990. The only thing is the allure of a 9000 series card is conflicting me.
Now I want a card as soon as possible as I have upgraded my rig recently and the 6950 is now the weak link in the chain. It's served me well, but I need to upgrade to make use of the rest of my system. I have games I purchased, but yet to play as I wanted to wait for the graphics card before starting.

is this better then the 780?
Killer price on this card for sure, hard to ignore even with the new cards around the corner. Can't see the 7990's replacement using less power either.
£1200 for 780 SLI or under £500 for this one, hmmm, tough choice !
Hardly £1200, you can pick up MSI 780's for £460 the other day. Still a big difference in price but £1200 is over exaggerating.
