hey guys,

so i got my 7990 on Tuesday and im really really happy with it, but my monitor is so bad i hate it.

now im not sure if to get a:
27" 2560x1440p monitor
27" 120/44hz 1080p monitor
29" 2560x1080p ultra wide

i only use my PC for gaming and i like every setting possible set to max
what worries me is that the 29" and 1440p monitor will put to much stress on my 7990 so it cant max everything on them with decent FPS
i will be playing BF4 a lot also
so what are you guys running with your 7990's and how dose it hold up?

1400p or the 29" ultra wide would be my choices, i have 2560x1440 with 7970 crossfire, i guess my most demanding game is crysis 3 and i can max that easy i think the lowest ive seen it is about 60fps

im sure most modern games will be fine, the only one i can think of that does not support 21.9 is assassin's creed but wait for some 29" owners to confirm

Go for a 120hz Monitor.....The smoothness is amazing, couldn't go back to a 60hz.

One of the best upgrades ive ever done, my son has the same monitor and similar mobo cpu/gpu etc as me apart from his is the 60hz version and his seems clunky to me.

The AOC Q2963PM 29" Professional Super-Wide LED Multimedia Monitor - Gunmetal monitor does look nice, but I have just made the change to 120/144hz and I couldnt go back to 60hz now.

hmmm really dont know what to choose

i play more RTS then anything else, i really want quality colors and image quality but dont want slow response times with screen tearing etc

Running my 7970's at 1440p on a Dell 2713hm and it looks amazing. I know they are prone to backlight issues, but if you get a good one you wont be dissapointed.

Colour reproduction is great and the image is super sharp. Only thing is, at that resolution, i've had to increase the font size in Windows as it was a bit on the small side and casing a bit of eye strain.
