I had my windows installed on teo 64gb SSDs raided with raid 0. One drive up and died but it was a first generation SSD so I accepted it and reinstalled windows with AHCI enabled (before raid I always used IDE) Could the AHCI cause the problem.

A few patterns to make it happen. Downloading in firefox (only firefox), opening speed fan, copying large files (over 1gb). Doing any of these will make the program freeze, if i wait long enough it will load. If I interact with the frozen program at all, blue screen.

Slight bit of strangeness with the copying files EVERYTHING will sort of 'stall' for example I can still open web pages but they will not be able to load until it is finished copying the file.

This started after a windows re-install and the way it behaves makes me think it is a HDD/file system problem.

Did you replace the dud SSD? as the new one you have may have different firmware, causing RAID0 to un-align which would be corrected with smaller files, larger ones not so much.
