I've had a number of D-SLRs:

1. 350D for 2 years (25k actuations) before I sold it.
2. 40D for 4.5 years (70k actuations).
3. 7D for 2 years (25k actuations).

and yesterday my 7D has developed (from what I've read fairly common!) an issue where it can't communicate with my batteries :( It is also the only one that I've ever sent off to CPS (had it's focus calibrated).

I can still use the battery but no charge status, so no biggie but still, hopefully it'll sort itself out like some other 7Ds but I think it is a case of it going off to CPS again :(

(Both batteries error and they charge A-ok in the charger!)

Hey-ho, there goes another £70!

It's never nice when your kit fails, hopefully the turn around will be quick. My first 7D failed with an odd err 99 error whereby the mirror box carried on cycling away at 8fps after every shot! I couldn't actually replicate once I took it back to the shop, but they replaced it anyway.

Not going to send it off until it really starts to cause issues (like no power at all).

I know both batteries can do 1000+ shots anyway so I'll just keep them charged and be done with it.

Hopefully my 17-55 IS will give up at the same time so they can both go in and be fixed!
